Sleeping positions...

When I was still single, I used to sleep in a fetal position.  Many say that how you position yourself to sleep says some things about you, and I believe that to be true.  But how about when you're already married?   Does your sleeping position with your spouse also tells some thing about the kind of relationship you have with each other?

I stumbled upon this photo on facebook and thought I might share it here...my husband and I usually sleep in  The Spoon, The Pursuit, and the Sweetheart's Cradle.  Ooops, TMI, lol...

Who am I...

I was back reading the posts of this lovely blogger named Christina and saw  the Who am I entry.  Being a Psychology major, I'm a sucker for these complete-the-sentence stuff and so I tried answering them myself...

Who I Am…
I am…33 years old.
I want…to be fit and healthy.
I have…a beautiful family that I'm thankful for.
I wish…to bring my kids to different places.
I hate…people who pretend to be someone they're not.
I fear…heights.
I hear…God's words.
I search…for inspiration.
I wonder…what life is like for someone who has it all.
I regret…not pursuing what I really aspire for.
I love…my family more than anything.
I ache…when I see ill children.
I always…panic!.
I usually...drink 3-4 cups of coffee daily.
I am not…as confident as I should be.
I dance…when I need to sweat, lol.
I sing…whenever I'm happy.
I never…question God.
I sometimes…bite my nails.
I cry…when I'm happy and when I'm sad.
I am not always…positive.
I lose…my temper when I couldn't find something I am looking for.
I am confused…by cyber-bullying.
I need…to always be assured.
I should…be active.

purchase booboo remedy...

I bought 2 tops from a low-cost store the other day.  It's not a thrift shop and it's not an outlet store either but they have a number of goods which are branded.  The top I got, according to the salesman, is from H&M's left-over stock from previous seasons.  But I'm not that sure.  As I was trying the clothes on at home, I noticed small stitches at the upper right part of the top. My face fell. I know I won't be able to return to the store and have it replaced because it's the only one left in my size.  I really love it's color and fit though.  I showed it to my husband and he suggested that I put a brooch or something to hide the stitch and I thought that was a good idea.
 8 riyals top

unnoticeable stitch (at first glance)

I remembered I have a fancy pair of earrings which I don't get to use.  I got my left-over lace and made a flower out of it and stitched an earring at the center.
I need to improve the flower's shape...
At first I wanted to permanently attach the DIY flower to the shirt but decided to just pin it with a safety pin for easy washing.
finished product!

colored jeans...

I saw an outlet store selling Zara's colored jeans from last year.  I'm kind of hesitant to buy because since it's a trend, I feel like I won't be getting my money's worth once it goes out of style. I decided to just come back.  I couldn't resist the price though..it's only 20 riyals..that cheap! So as I am typing these words, I've finally decided I'd get myself a pair... or maybe two, hehehe...

Should I buy 2 or just a pair?

what goes on in the head of an almost 33 years old mom and wife...

In a few days, I will be celebrating my birthday.  At first I wanted to just post a wish list but changed my mind.  I feel like wishes are unattainable that's why we call it 'wish'.  If something is reachable and possible then we should call it 'to buy list' or 'as simple as 'to do list', lol.

Anyway, I don't give a big fuss over birthdays, at least my birthday.  The only time I had a birthday party was on my 7th birthday.  It was fun and all but for a dreamy and almost OC girl like me, it was sort of a disappointment.  Why? because of my birthday cake! The cake that my mom bought for me was not meant for a child's birthday but for an adult - it was cream colored with no decoration whatsoever.  It was a rushed party, I think, so they bought whatever was available.  From then on, my mom would just give me birthday money and I would just treat my friends out.  I thought I wanted to have a grand 18th debut party but after attending several parties of my friends and overhearing negative side comments from guests here and there like "the food isn't that good", "why is she wearing that gown?", the venue sucks" etc, etc.,  I decided that I don't want a debut party anymore.  My mom  gave me 20,000 pesos instead and I went shopping (silly me! I regret not saving some in the bank).  She even gifted me with a car.

Sorry, I digress.  My birthday this year seems special.  No, I won't be having a party.  With us settling back home this summer, I'm planning of going back to the work force.  I'm still undecided whether to teach again or try the corporate world this time.  But weighing things down, I'm leaning towards teaching more.  My 'to do list' this year includes applying as a university instructor in a state university near our place and then continuing my Master's Degree there.  I once taught in a university, De La Salle - Dasmarinas. I taught second year and fourth year irregular students with Psychology subjects.  But being a newly grad and having a number of students older than me, I was overwhelmed.  I'll try my hands on it again this year.  Okay, now I think I'm killing you with boredom. =)

Here's my 'To Do List' @ 33:
1.  Work again
2.  Finish Master's Degree in Social Psychology or maybe something related to education
3.  Convert one bedroom into the kid's entertainment/play room
4.  Redecorate the master bedroom and install wooden closets
5.  Have one on one dates with the kids
6.  Save!

I find it weird that I don't have any 'to buy' things in mind, hehehe...

Ohh, and receiving gifts wouldn't hurt either! =)

Bonding...

One of the things I look forward doing in the coming months is having the one-on-one dates I usually do with my boys.  When  I go grocery shopping I bring one kid with me for us to bond.  We talk and laugh over waffles and iced tea and allow him to pick any food he wants then bring it home to his brothers, too.

In as much as I  want to do that bonding routine here in Saudi Arabia, I can't.  Women here, as many know, aren't allowed to drive and I'm not that confident enough to ride a cab with a kid in tow alone.  Or should I say, I don't feel safe doing that.

the night before one of our flights to Riyadh, I forgot to print out our itinerary. unfortunately, our printer ran out of ink so Pao and I had to drive to the nearest computer shop.
went grocery shopping with Matti. I overslept that's why my eyes look swollen so I wore my doll-eyes contact lenses, hehe...
off to the mall with Sammy...

Happy Birthday Little One...

Dearest Sammy,

This was taken on your 2nd birthday and we treated you to the zoo...

On your 3rd birthday, Mama Da (your grandmother) gave you a cake...

Fast forward and I didn't realize you have grown so much bigger.  Here's your last  photo with your long hair.  You wanted to have it cut because you said you're big now and want a hair cut  like that of your older brothers...

Now you are seven...are you really seven now? because for me you will always be three, hehe...

Happy happy birthday, my precious Samuel Luis! Daddy and I love you so much!

Ok, now I'm crying (with matching tulo sipon) just by looking at all your photos...
I'll keep the memory of this picture in my heart forever...

one last month in the kingdom 1...

In a few days we wouldn't have a car anymore because my husband needs to sell his car so that his company can start processing his exit papers.  One of the requirements if you want to get out of the kingdom for good is to not have any property and liability named after you.   Enjoying the last few days of having a car, we have been treating the kids out since Wednesday.  Since the swipe cards that we use in arcades still have balances in them, we spent the weekend in malls.
We spend most afternoons this way.  They use the pail as an improvised beyblade arena.  We didn't buy the ones sold in the malls because we think the quality is not worth the price.

Swipe cards for arcades and indoor rides from Riyadh Gallery and Sahara Mall.

This is wonderland for our boys...

Unlimited play for SR15 per head...not bad.

I was busy taking photos of the boys...

Their dad, on the other hand, is busy playing angry birds, lol...

I pity those colored chicks...

Before heading home, I wanted to stop by H&M.  Since it was still prayer time, we waited for the store to open.  All of a sudden, Paolo pulled my hand and ] directed me to one of the stores.  He pointed at the poster and said, " Mommy, look at Minnie Mouse, she has a pet cat.  Pero she's a mouse and mas malaki pa siya sa cat." All I could answer was, "Baket nga no?" and laughed, hehehe...
